Initial Unemployment Claims Go Up, As COVID-19 Cases Increase

With COVID-19 cases on the rise, the job market will continue to face challenges until a vaccine is widely available. Initial unemployment insurance claims were up 31,000 from the prior week, but continued claims were down 429,000. The recovery of jobs is flattening across many locations and industries. Some businesses will struggle to regain momentum until a vaccine is rolled out and utilized.
