How do you map the correct job titles to the correct W2 information?

The aggregation of W-2s provided to state agencies is done at an occupation level. Through our AI technology and proprietary job mapping methodology, we can calculate job-specific salaries at today’s market rate by layering in our forecast.

Our job mapping database is a combination of proprietary research, surveys, job postings and our partnership with a global 3rd party payroll provider. After job mapping and ATILA (Automated Technology – Intelligent Learning Algorithm) technologies are applied, we validate against approximately 8.6 million paystubs.

For annual data, LaborIQ releases the data after conducting quality assurance and variance analysis.

How do you validate your salary data?

LaborIQ’s team of economists and data scientists implements our proprietary methodology to provide the most up-to-date competitive salary recommendations. This proprietary process, called ATILA® Technology, includes a 5-step data refinement and validation process to provide superior compensation accuracy. superior compensation accuracy.

We begin with 8 main sources of data – including the state-reported W-2 wage data, labor market and demographic information, job postings and university data.

Then, our team of economists and data scientists conducts proprietary research, as well as econometric and statistical analysis on nearly 90 million salary data points to determine compensation for 1,400 occupations and 20,000+ job titles. Salaries are validated against 8.6 million paystubs from one of the nation’s largest payroll processing providers.

The result is precise, up-to-date compensation for 20,000+ job titles, across nearly 1,600 industries and for 388 markets, all varied by education and experience.
